There's a lot new and fun in Newport. Here are four spots to consider.

TSK, Thames Street Kitchen, has opened at 677 Thames St., Newport It is owned by chefs Chad Hoffer and Tyler Burnley. The two met working at the kitchen at Laurent Tourondel's BLT Prime in NYC six years ago. They became friends and believe it or not, married twin sisters Anna and Julia Jenkins who are natives of Newport.

They have now settled back in Rhode Island and voila, here's a new 40 seat restaurant. And it's BYOB to boot.

The menu is seasonal and will change each day. A sample menu includes wild striped bass, English pea ravioli, hanger steak, day boat scallops, quail with candied lemon, broccolini soup and fried chicken with spaetzle.

Burnley worked at Simmons Farm and a CSA will offer one block of local ingredients for the summer and harvest season. Other items come from Schartner Farms, Farming Turtles and Little Rhody Farms.

TSK is open Tuesday through Sunday for dinner at 5:30 and for brunch on Sundays beginning at 10:30.

The Cliff Walk Terrace is a new patio open at the perfectly located Chanler in Newport.

Executive chef is Thomas Duffy, executive sous chef is Amanda O'Malley and sous chef is Nicole Holden.

The menu includes starters of a trio of sliders for $15, citrus poached shrimp $12 and calamari $14; pizza are $14 and $15 and sandwiches range from $12 for a grilled vegetable panini to $26 for the Kobe beef burger featured a few years ago in GQ magazine.

Breakfast is served from 7:30-10 a.m.; lunch from noon to 6 p.m. Hours are subject to change.

The Chanler at Cliff Walk is at 117 Memorial Blvd. (401) 847.2244, thechanler.com

Pineapples on the Bay has been renovated and emerged as all new waterfront and outdoor restaurant at Hyatt Regency Newport on Goat Island.

There are 17 seats around the bar right there on the water. But what is new is the entire kitchen that is on the other side of that bar.

There are many tables for dining and drinks around the kitchen and bar and even an outdoor fireplace for those nights when the wind off the water is chilling the summer air.

The Hyatt folks are calling it a lobster shack but it's quite an elegant space.

The also new menu will feature summer fare including lobster quesadillas (with chorizo, sweet corn pico and cilantro crema); local oysters and steamers; grilled swordfish (with tomatoes and lemon pepper aioli); classic lobster rolls, burgers, and fish and chips.

There will also be a drink menu of specialty cocktails, including the Narragansett Pirate (with local Thomas Tew Rum, Malibu rum, banana liqueur, pineapple, OJ and cranberry); pomegranate margaritas, pina coladas, daiquiris, mojitos and sangria.

Finally we have the newly opened Muse restaurant at the Vanderbilt Grace hotel, 41 Mary St., Newport.

The chef is Jonathan Cartwright and he's gained notoriety as the chef of the White Barn Inn in Kennebunk, Maine, sister property to the Vanderbilt.
