When Bottles hosts its weekly wine tasting in the store this afternoon and evening, there will be a live web chat with a third generation winemaker of one of the wines they are pouring.

The free tasting runs from 3:30 - 7:30 p.m. but from 5-6 Rudy Marchesi of Montinore Estate will be live on the screen from Oregon. Montinore vineyards are cultivated according to the standards of biodynamic farming. The 230-acre vineyard is planted with Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer and other grapes. A summer Pinot Rose is featured on their website.

"This is the first and only event we have seen or heard of like this," said Bottles Nick Shugrue. "It is also our first run at this type of event."

"We plan on doing this type of event very regularly however and will open it up to breweries and other wineries from around the world," he said.

Bottles is at 141 Pitman St. Providence, (401) 372-2030.
