PETA has just ranked the top five vegan-friendly food trucks in the U.S., and Warwick's Like No Udder, a frozen dessert truck owned by Karen Krinsky, has landed as Number 5.

"We give Like No Udder -- and all our winners -- five big honks for helping to make delicious and animal-friendly vegan food more convenient than ever," said PETA executive vice president Tracy Reiman. "Every vegan-friendly food truck that hits the streets helps more and more people get on the road to a more humane, healthy life."

Vegan refers to cuisine that is meat-, dairy-, and egg-free.

"Like No Udder has a bevy of treats to satisfy your sweet tooth while still being sweet to animals," said PETA citing favorites such as the chocolate-peanut butter shake, the root beer float, vegan soft-serve ice cream in vanilla or chocolate with your choice of toppings and slushies.

The truck carries hot-food items such as veggie dogs and vegan meatball subs during festivals and other select events. For real time locations, visit the Like No Udder website.

Krinsky and Like No Udder is hosting a one time event on May 1st -- The First Annual Vegan May Brunch, a veganized version of a Rhode Island tradition, to be held at the DaVinci Center -- 470 Charles St., Providence, with doors opening at 12:45, serving at 1 p.m. Seating is limited and tickets are on sale through noon on April 28.

The cost is $16.50 per person and is served buffet style. The menu includes tofu scramble, tempeh sausage, peach bread pudding, cornbread and gravy, home fries, sauteed kale, fruit salad, coffee, tea and juice. This is an all you can eat event.

For ticket purchases, visit the Like No Udder website.

In conjunction with the brunch, a fund-raising World Vegan Bake Sale will take place to benefit The Warren/Bristol Special Olympics.

As for the PETA list, taking the top spot was The Cinnamon Snail in Hoboken, N.J., thanks to its Blue Corn Pancakes (with piƱon butter and maple syrup) and Korean Barbeque Seitan.

Second place was taken by Chicago's Ste Martaen & Soul Vegetarian Vegan Food Truck. Favorites include the Chicago Cheesesteak (filled with seitan and grilled poblano peppers).

Third was Sunny Vibrations in San Francisco, which offers a grilled veggie kebab and pizza burger, and fourth was Seabirds in Orange County, Calif., which features a beer-battered avocado taco and barbecue veggie burger.
