Some interesting conversation on the radio Wednesday.

The WSNE 93.7 FM morning show Matty in the Morning (a simulcast of a show on KISS108 in Boston) discussed TV Maitre d's Joe Zito, which airs on Fox Providence and Channel 12.

Matty in the Morning news guy Billy Costa is also the host of a dining show on NECN called T.V. Diner.

According to banter between Matt Siegel and Costa, apparently some fan of the radio show met Zito and told him he was the Billy Costa of R.I. Zito told the fan he didn't really find a comparison between the two. Zito said he was a food expert and Costa was a deejay.

As often happens on the show, Siegel defended Costa, saying how professional his TV show is while denying any knowledge of Joe Zito. Then Siegel turned the bit into a big tease of Costa by playing funny sound bites from his show that make him sound silly.

Of course, the two shows are completely different, with food the only common thread.

The end result: Zito's picture is now on the morning show's homepage. File it under "Say anything about me just spell my name right." They did.

And Joe does know his food.
