Chef Tim Kelly, most recently of Cafe Nuovo, reports he has taken a position at Carpionato Properties. He'll be working on a restaurant concept and development of the chapel building at Carpionato's Chapel View project.
"It is an exciting project with a great deal of historic value that I am proud to be part of," he wrote.
Kelly left Nuovo in the spring to travel to California. He has returned "home" to Rhode Island.
"I am also working closely with the culinary team at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on a consulting basis with focus on a la Carte dining at Alfreds," he said.
In other food news, after 3 months of renovations, Farmstead at 186/188 Wayland Ave., Providence, is ready to open Tuesday, Sept. 15.
New is the option for a sit down, self-service lunch with soups, salads, sandwiches, prepared foods and cheese and charcuterie, paired with selected wines and beers off the list at La Laiterie.
The new lunch menu will be offered 11 am-4 pm, Tuesday- Saturday.
Although lunch ends at 4pm, the retail shop will now also remain open until 10pm, to accommodate diners at La Laiterie.
During the evenings, diners will have the ability to sip a glass of wine or artisan beer, and nosh on some cheese, while waiting for a a table in La Laiterie.
