That's the question Chrisopher Borrelli called to ask from his desk at the Chicago Tribune today.
Seems there's been a debate going on among reporters at the paper about the merit of a wedge of pizza versus a square of pizza. To this issue, Borrelli, a Federal Hill native, added the topic of pizza strips.
Now the reporters are putting together a story on the subject and Borrelli was seeking a bit of history. If you know about its beginnings, post a comment here.
Borrelli also told me that since Alan Richman named the Chicago restaurant Great Lake and its Mortadella pizza the best in the nation, waits for pies are 2 1/2 hours.
Bob & Timmy's on Federal Hill made that list too. While business is great, you won't have to wait hours for a pizza.
