This guy named Guy is the real deal. He is warm and hysterically funny and full of heart. He loves cars and kids and food! He's not skinny. (Who trusts skinny chefs?)
He's been in Rhode Island this week to film an episode of his wildly popular Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives for next fall. We met up at Louis Restaurant, a mighty fine diner at 286 Brook St. in Providence.
I knew Fieri was there because his red Camaro was parked out front.
He's married to a North Providence girl, if you can believe it (but you can because all roads lead back to RI). They met in California where they now live and where he ran five restaurants before he became a TV star.
He loves Rhode Island and hot wieners. He thought he died and went to heaven the first time he smacked down at Olyneville New York System.
He loves Crazy Burger Cafe and Juice Bar in Narragansett and the Liberty Elm Diner on Elmwood Avenue in Providence.
He was still set to visit Morin's Hometown Bar and Grill in Attleboro, Ma.
