Plan now for these ethnic food events

Pull out your calendars and get ready to make some plans for the coming weeks and the month of August.

On Wednesday, July 29, Chan's Fine Oriental Dining in Woonsocket will be the place to learn how how to make a Mai Tai, fried rice, and lo mein. It's part of the Secret Ingredient Tour from the Blackstone Valley Tourism Council. The lesson will be followed by a traditional Chinese Buffet and Blues Jam.

If Chinese doesn't do it for you, on Wednesday, August 5, Spumoni's Italian Seafood Restaurant in Pawtucket will have chefs teaching how to make Shrimp Spumoni. An Italian dinner buffet follows. The cost is $19.85. Reserve with the BVTC.

Come August, check out Samurai Sundays with classic samurai movies every Sunday in August from 6-10pm at Ebisu, the new Japanese restaurant at 38 Pontiac Ave.. $3 appetizers from 5-7pm. No reservations needed. Learn more at Ebisu.

The restaurant will also do a 4-Course Sake Tasting / Appetizer Pairing Class ($19.95) on Sunday, August 16th from 4:00-5:30pm. Courses include four quality sakes (3 cold/1 hot) and appetizers of Edamame, Braised Pork Belly, Miso Salmon, Spicy Tuna Tostada.
